work all day, party all night, and write songs about these days so bright!

Hey everybody! The sun is shining in Helsinki, wohoooo! I almost could have had breakfast on my balcony the other day. It's still a bit too cold for that, but the time will come:)
A sunny morning in Kallio

I know how much all of you are waiting for our music video and we are too, but unfortunately you're still gonna have to wait.. But it won't be too long, it's getting closer day by day! ;) There has been some interesting meetings with partners regarding all kinds of co-operation, and we're sooo sorry for not being able to tell you anything about it.. But we're all VERY excited !!!! It's starting to look like this could be a bigger deal than we ever dreamed it would.. And one thing is for sure: It's gonna be a hit. A big, fat hit. Everybody who has heard it has gone totally crazy over it. Last week we got the mastered version and when combining the song with the Swedish production, mixing and mastering it just couldn't sound any bigger or better. It's physically impossible. There's a reason why almost all pop music is produced in Sweden, from Adam Lambert to Pink, One Direction and Britney.

What have we been doing? Well, the single is done, and the video will soon be, so all we have to do is finish the rest of the album. We've got the songs pretty much chosen but there is still a lot of work to do in order to get everything as good as possible. The single set the barrier really high so now we have to make the rest of the songs as good as it is. As our producer Patric likes to say: "we don't wanna have just an album, we wanna have 10 singles!"

Last week we worked on a song called "Beautiful", and we added a creamy soprano sax solo<3 I love it. We've now recorded 4 songs and two more are on the way! Can't wait for you to hear the all new Peach Party among the other hits!
when the song is done, it's time to party;)

When we haven't been writing (and partying), we've been practicing our unplugged set, and our next gig is in Kouvola on the 5th of April! We're gonna play you 4 completely new songs, and new versions of the old songs so you don't wanna miss this ;) and we've got a Beatles cover too, as Paul mentioned last week. And a new instrument, the Glockenspiel!! Something for Olli to practice;)

our glockenspiel<3
We're writing and playing music all day and all night so I guess you'd like to know what music we're listening to ourselves? I'm challenging Krippe, Paul & Olli to do this too: post a link to one song you've been listening to a lot lately each time you write the blog. My choice for this week is this:

An amazing song. When we were in Miami this had just started playing on the radio and when we drove through the night and this song came on, everybody went quiet and just listened. This is absolutely one of the best songs of 2013 and I'm completely in love with it<3

See you soon<3

Krippe brought us some breakfast today :P this is now officially our most liked photo on Instagram. Should we post more photos like this??? :D

I love Pop

I love The Beatles. The importance and impact of their short career is beyond compare! Their groundbreaking sound was forged with hard work in the 1960's, when they played rock'n roll covers around bars in Hamburgs red light district. Before them, a lot of the pop acts were artists who didn't write their own songs, nor played the instruments. Since then there has always been a lot of bands who write songs and play together, but the music the vast majority is playing now is rock and heavy! I've always loved different styles pop because of the way it crystallizes the most powerful feelings of everybody's lives into simple beautiful melodies. I like to think of The Beatles as one of our bands biggest influences. Things we share(or at least strive to share): four guys, brilliant musicians, all songwriters and good friends! AND GREAT POP!

Sometimes the definition of "Pop" is not always so clear. Someone claims it is equal to what is mainstream at the time, and someone claims it's a particular form or sound. I like to think of "pop" as something constantly changing, but in the other hand always a very universal movement in music. You see, even though pop is in many cases mainstream, it is always experimental and rebellious at the time it is released. Wether it is The Beatles, Sex Pistols or Britney Spears we are talking about, there is at least one thing in common: half of the people love them, and half of the people hate them (ratio may vary :D) All of these acts were controversial in their time. The Beatles was popular during a time when youth culture was yet not a reality. Middle aged people blamed The Beatles for the hysteria they caused in their girl fans, and for acting as a bad example. As of Sex Pistols, I don't even need to go into details on what caliber of irritation caused. But a little bit more recent example of the controversy of pop is Britney Spears, who in the early 21th century gave reason to debates of young gils sexuality, and what the impact pop(/sex)-icons like Spears had on them. ...A very brief explanation, but in a nutshell Pop is always just a little bit ahead of its time, but not too far away to be alienated from the society!

Hmm... just my five cents on this late monday evening!

Why I was thinking about this is because we decided to add a Beatles song to our "unplugged" set!! You'll hear us play it if you come to Kouvola on the 5th of april! More on that later on.

With Love

Here comes the sun (doo doo doo doo)

Hi there Popsters! <3

Last week was filled with meetings and recording sessions. It's getting more and more hectic everyday as the release of our debut single is getting closer! We also settled a couple of really exciting gigs for the spring! We'll let you know about those later, but I can sure you that it's gonna be so much fun!

Axel can't keep away from his iPhone, even while recording! :)

Last week we had a couple of sunny days here in Helsinki, and you could see how the city came back to life. People were crawling to the daylight from their holes and underneath the stones and I think I caught a couple of them smiling. The summer is on its way! :)

I decided to take the best out of the sunny weather, and had the most wonderful brunch yesterday :)

For a while now we've been trying to make a ballad that would be good enough for the upcoming album. Now, after a thousand attempts, we finally nailed it last week! After endless hours and so many different versions it just kind of came to us one evening, and it was just there! It's a beautiful song, and I know you're gonna love it too, just as we do :)

Today we got the final mix of our upcoming single, and I can't even begin to describe how amazing it sounds! Next up is mastering, where we're gonna tighten it up just a bit, and then it's ready to hit the radios! Whole my life I've been waiting for this moment, and now it's here! Europe be ready, cause we're coming!!! :)

Ps. I just saw a movie called Project X. We were thinking about doing something like that at Axel's place, so stay tuned! ;D

PPS. If you have a band, and you're wondering about how to get to the record labels, here's a tip: just run in! No one will stop you. Here's some proof! :D

Home from Miami! (or as Champ Kind would say Whammy!)

Hiya Popsters!

Guess what? I was already asleep. I was in bed watching Hercule Poirot on Yle Areena and I totally fell asleep. The last thing I remember is an oriental gentleman (and Londons richest man) getting stabbed in his heart by a lethal stiletto. I was dead asleep until I had to change position, and by moving I gained just enough consciousness to realise; the blog!!

So here I am. Nothing much to write about in particular. But I like writing so it's fun!

I thought I had recovered from Miami well. But apparently I'm still a bit messed up from all the sudden changes. Falling asleep at nine o'clock is quite rare for me. I, like most of you, usually end up scouring the internet 'til my eyelids drop. But maybe this is my chance to actually make some sense of my sleeping rhythm! Yes, it shall be my next project.

We like fire extinguishers!

Another thing that has changed is the weather. POW! The sand in my shoes has suddenly turned to snow in my... well ALL OVER ME. Especially since I slipped earlier today. My apologies to the car who had to stop in the middle of the road and watch my escaping dive into a snowdrift. But I will NOT talk about the weather. That's way to tacky.

I want to thank all of you who welcomed us at the Airport. It was like insane. Felt so good to get such a greeting. The best ending to the best trip ever. Sincerly, THANK YOU! (p.s. painted it blue so it's really emphasized, p.s.s the welcome home cards we're amazing! :)

I see someone is watching #007 on #Twitter. I'm #Guessing it's #Axel! We're all having this strange need to watch movies associated with crime. I watched Poirot, Axel: James Bond and I know Olli saw Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit yesterday. Maybe Miami turned us all into bad boys. Who knows? Stay tuned to find out.
